Estes Park Marathon 10th Year Anniversary!

We Celebrate Estes Park Marathon’s 10 years of success!

The Estes Park Marathon is celebrating its 10th year and we are still growing strong!  Our commitment to providing safe and well organized race events has contributed to our success. Our race committee is dedicated to providing events that support good health, be family friendly, encourage environmental appreciation and celebrate our youth.  EPM is a non-profit, 501c(4), which fund-raises for youth programs in the Estes Park Valley.

Over the past few years, we have upgraded our race offerings to match other races around the country. We give each race finisher in the full and half marathon, a Colorado crafted, pewter medal by Designs by Ricker.  We believe our race participants train hard and travel far to reach our running events.  They deserve a beautiful finisher medal!  Our races use state of the art timing (Hallucinations Sports), which this year will have chip embedded in race bibs.  Results will be made on race day and published by June 17th.  Proudly, our tech race shirts are provided by a small Colorado company, Born Fit. The well-deserved volunteer shirts produced by Trail Ridge Printing.

Our post race party is provided and sponsored by Poppy’s Pizza and The Egg & I, both local favorites!

Most importantly, the Estes Park Marathon is located in the most spectacular place in Colorado.  The Estes Park community has been a loyal destination for athletes and those who value recreation for over a century.  Our high mountain landscapes offer inspiration and challenge you to engage with the great outdoors. We hope you will join us!

Be a part of our 10th year celebration!

Many heart-felt thanks!,

Belle Morris and Terry Chiplin

EP Marathon 2012 voted most scenic race by Colorado Runner readers!

We were delighted to hear that the readers of Colorado Runner voted our Estes Park Marathon as the most scenic race of 2012!
Given that we are in one of the most scenic states in the nation, we reckon this is no small achievement.

Choosing a course that is both runnable, can be maintained with accessible aid stations, and also has the opportunity to showcase our magnificent mountain town and the Continental Divide, is a task that the original team that started the marathon managed to blend and achieve very successfully.

This is the second award from Colorado Runner that the Estes Park Marathon has been blessed with winning. In 2006 we won Best Weekend Getaway Award as well!

Thank you to all our runners that made this award possible. We look forward to seeing you again in our races in the future.

Visually Impaired Athletes – special registration process for 2013 races

Visually Impaired athletes

If you are a visually impaired athlete and would like to take part in any of our races, we would love to have you run with us! We are fortunate that VI supporter Deborah Conley will be looking after registrations for both VI runners and guides for our 2012 races, one of only 2 races that will be doing this in Colorado. Please contact Deborah at deborahconley19@gmail.com, or call 303-696-9850. Deborah will handle all registration details for you, and will also be at the races on Sunday June 16 2013. Please help us ensure you have the best experience possible by contacting Deborah if you are a visually impaired athlete or guide.

We do not have an online registration process to indicate if you are a VI athlete or guide, so please contact Deborah for registration.

This is an excellent traction product, we use them up here in the mountains in Colorado. Icespike have kindly given us 5 sets of Icespikes as prizes for each race! Big thank you to Keith and Jeri!
Just in case you need an endorsement, the new World Record Holder for the vertical kilometer above 3,000m uses them!  Happy running and have a great Memorial Day weekend!

Visually Impaired athletes welcome!

We are delighted to announce that each of our 2012 races (apart from the Marathon Team Relay), welcomes visually impaired athletes!
