We offer a range of training options for you, whether you are running the 5K, 10K, half marathon or marathon.For the fourth year running, we are delighted and proud to be associated with BOLDRUNNING, the training club of the BOLDERBOULDER race series. Belle Morris and Terry Chiplin, Race Co-Directors of the Estes Park Marathon, are both coaches for the BOLDRUNNING training program.
The BOLDERBOULDER race series is probably best known for the annual BOLDERBOULDER 10K race that takes place every Memorial Day – 2009 will mark the event’s 34th year! The BOLDERBOULDER race is a great opportunity to test your fitness prior to the Estes Park Marathon races, taking place only 3 weeks before. Training programs – 5K and 10K

The BOLDRUNNING training programs have been developed in coordination with 1993 World Champion Mark Plaatjes and head BOLDRUNNING coach and elite runner Ewen North. Runners are placed into specific pace groups based on their goal time over a 5K or 10K . The programs offer a fun mix of challenging workouts, great coaching, expert advice, and s great social atmosphere. All program details are accessible 24/7 on the BOLDRUNNING member website. Groups meet regularly in both Boulder and Denver. If you live away from those areas, you can still use the online training system , wherever you live.

Training programs – 5K to Marathon distances
BOLDRUNNING coach and Estes Park Marathon race co-director Belle Morris can create a specific program for any race distance from 5K to marathon, based on your goals and current fitness status. Belle has extensive coaching experience and a refreshing approach to motivating athletes to realize their potential. Belle designs programs for athletes of all abilities and ambitions. If it’s your first running event, or your 100th, Belle would love to work with you! Use our expertise of training and running at altitude and sea level to prepare you for your best race experience! Programs are available for both Boulder and Estes residents, as well as an online distance program. Belle will provide a detailed periodized program and regular support either in person, online, or by phone.

The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training (TNT) program can give you the chance to combine an inspiring half marathon race experience with an opportunity to do good for someone else.

Training Camps in Estes Park
Active at Altitude, a proud supporter of the Estes Park Marathon, holds training camps in Estes Park year round! In 2013, they have 2 camps before the Estes Park Marathon races – a Trail Running Camp April 18-21, details here, and a Women’s Running Camp, May 5-12, details here. Their camps are a great way for athletes of all abilities to prepare for the races in June whatever distance you are planning to run.
